*Do you know what BIMI is?

Suggested page: BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification): How to Add Your Logo to Emails

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is an email standard that allows businesses to display their official logo next to authenticated messages in supported inboxes. It helps recipients recognize legitimate emails more easily while encouraging companies to strengthen email security.

BIMI does not authenticate messages on its own. Instead, it works with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. When an email passes the required authentication checks, the receiving email provider can look for a BIMI TXT record in DNS. This record points to the company’s approved logo, which must be hosted at a secure HTTPS address.

To use BIMI, a domain should have SPF and DKIM configured correctly, an enforced DMARC policy, and a compatible SVG logo. Some mailbox providers may also require a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC).

Even with a correct setup, the email provider decides whether the logo appears. BIMI improves brand recognition and supports stronger email security, but it does not guarantee inbox placement or eliminate phishing.
